Welcome to Vermont Tubbs
One of the oldest and finest names in New England furniture, Vermont Tubbs can be seen in
some of the best furniture showrooms in America.
The Vermont Tubbs story started in 1840, when William F.
Tubbs began steam bending ash to produce durable,
handcrafted, snowshoes and skis.
The Tubbs name soon became known for excellent workmanship in producing
their hardwood snowshoes and skis.
In the decades to follow, Vermont Tubbs added lines of
hand-crafted, bench-built bedroom furniture constructed with this same commitment to
high quality.
Today Vermont Tubbs is recognized as an industry leader for
excellence, safety and value in home furniture.
The Factory
Operating from a modern facility in Brandon, Vermont, and offering a variety
of styles, the company
continues to broaden its lines of beautiful hardwood
furniture.
As specialists in bench-made, hardwood furniture for both
adults and children, Vermont Tubbs hand tools the best available renewable
woods to produce distinctive lines of New England beds, chests, dressers,
tables, armoires and occasionals.
Although some collections come in birch, most pieces are made from solid white ash.
Vermont Tubbs Quality
Handcrafted hardwood beds are the cornerstone of Vermont Tubbs' collection
of fine furniture but
their
high-quality workmanship does not stop there.
For instance, Chests and Dressers are fitted with an adjustable dial
located at the bottom of each drawer
box to keep the spacing on the drawers even in any climate. Each drawer is also dove-tailed front and back and
equipped with hidden,
European, self-closing and self-cleaning glides.
Kids Bedroom Furniture - Safe Children's Beds
Particularly proud of the care designed into their
kids' collections,
(especially into the bunk beds), Vermont Tubbs lines of Kids bedroom furniture have received much praise
over the years because of their sturdy construction and multiple safety features.
Safety features on the bunk beds include steel-barrel bolt fastening systems and
full-length guardrails.
In keeping with their arduous attention to building safety features into
kids' bedroom furniture, Tubbs uses
only lacquers, sealers and paints deemed to be safe under the Federal Hazardous
Substance Act and Consumer Product Safety Act. This act addresses safety issues for children's toys and furniture.
In addition to being safe, Tubbs insures usability over a long period of time
by offering an optional kit that converts their twin bed into a double bed. The
bunk beds can also be converted into two twin beds.
The Faithful
Vermont Tubbs' quality home furnishings are well known by generations of
faithful customers.
Tubbs reputation in the local community is very important to them and, no
matter how popular their home furnishings become elsewhere, they are careful to
always remember their
New England roots.
No Assembly Lines at Vermont Tubbs
Tubbs contributes much of this success to dedicated craftsmen and
other long-term employees. Each piece is bench-made by one person and one person alone.
Pride of workmanship is carved into the furniture at Vermont Tubbs
and each piece is personally signed by its maker. By signing their work, Tubbs
ensures their furniture is made as close to perfect as is possible.
